In Querétaro Martinrea expands operations and invests 155 million dollars

Martinrea, Tier 1 specialized in the production of aluminum automotive parts, announced that it will invest 155 million dollars to expand its operations in Querétaro.

The brand seeks this 2022 to produce 2 million parts for OEMs such as BMW, Ford, Honda, and the electric company Lucid, among others.

Juan Pedro Santos, Vice President of Operations at Martinrea, commented: “Martinrea has developed its own technology for low and high pressure aluminum casting; They are at the forefront of innovation and the products we make today are used in both combustion and electric cars.”

The investment will be made over two years with the intention of improving the technology applied to aluminum, specifically in engine blocks, transmission casings and suspension bridges, as well as auto parts. The news from Martinrea will generate 668 new jobs in the state.

Present at the investment announcement were the Government Secretary of the state of Querétaro, Lupita Murguía Gutiérrez, representing Governor Mauricio Kuri González; and the head of the Secretariat for Sustainable Development (SEDESU), Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero.
