The Maquiladora and Export Manufacturing Industry (Index) of Nuevo León outlines that 2022 will be a stable year with a trend of operational consolidation for companies in terms of exports.
According to the Index, 2021 ended with more than 43 thousand 470 million dollars in exports and it is expected that in 2022 this figure will grow by 3.5%.
“The future of the export industry in Mexico looks stable for this 2022 due to the significant recovery of this activity in the last year worldwide. The industry is prepared to face what is coming, and it is good news, growth, consolidation, new jobs and investments”, said the director of Index Nuevo León.

Teresa Galindo, director of Index Nuevo León, contemplated that exports increase despite the challenges arising from COVID-19. “IMMEX exports are expected to conclude 2021 with a growth of around 15% at an annual rate, due to the high demand for goods presented by the United States and the low competitive base.
The director considered that for 2022 the main challenge will be to continue with the good performance in economic matters where exports and employment are mainly driven by the growing demand from the United States mainly.
Galindo commented that during 2022 the export industry will be consolidated despite the conditions that exist due to COVID-19, for which he called for companies to continue respecting the sanitary measures by the State authorities.
In this way, the maquiladora and manufacturing sector will be able to work without affecting their operations, added the director.
Likewise, Index Nuevo León ruled out a slowdown in activity as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19, since the sanitary measures carried out by the authorities gave good results in combating the pandemic.
