With 98% of its facilities occupied by creative companies, and after launching the bidding process for a third property to develop housing in the area of Ciudad Creativa Digital (CCD), the trust responsible for the project is ready to adjust the master plan Initial that was raised with the endorsement of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Almost 10 years after MIT designated Guadalajara as its headquarters, the physical space where the Creative City is located - the surroundings of Parque Morelos in the Historic Center of the city - has 10 established companies that have generated 500 jobs in the last two years; meanwhile, in the surrounding land, the Creative District will be built, consisting of housing developments, commerce and services.

“We already have the buildings in Ciudad Creativa filled with companies and universities; Now with the tenders for housing and mixed uses that the master plan proposed to us, we believe that it is time to review the master plan together with the business and academic sector and redefine what can be done with the three properties that we still have ”, Antonio Salazar Gómez, the president of the Ciudad Creativa Digital Trust, told El Economista.

“We are interested in attracting another university specialized in creative industries to strengthen the ecosystem, also building another complex to attract more companies; in fact, the resources obtained from the bidding of the properties will go, one, for reinvestment in public works in the area, another, to have more spaces for creatives and, another is to generate support funds for the creative sector ", explained.

As part of the “Guadalajara Creative District” project, for the intervention of an 11-hectare polygon around Parque Morelos, the bidding rules for property C, owned by the Master Trust of Digital Creative City (FMCCD), were published on October 19.
