Fibra Nova, a Mexican infrastructure and real estate trust, finalized the signing of a new 12-year lease agreement with BWI.

Although no further details of the agreement were revealed, the company reported that it is an industrial property of 120 thousand square feet located in the city of Chihuahua.

It is worth mentioning that BWI is a multinational manufacturer of automotive components with operations in Europe, Asia and North America.

This is the second warehouse occupied by the automaker in the Bafar Technology Park, where it has already reached 180,000 square feet.

Despite the sanitary conditions that have plagued Mexico, the state's industrial sector showed signs of recovery in 2021.

According to the Solili platform, the municipality of Chihuahua registered an increase of about 10% in jobs generated by the manufacturing and maquiladora industries, compared to 2020.

In addition, in the middle of last year, the state capital reported transactions in warehouses located in the North corridor for almost five thousand square meters.

For its part, Fibra Nova has more than 372 thousand square meters leased throughout the country, with 59% of its operations in Chihuahua.

The border area operates with good dynamism due to the established clusters and the diversified investment it receives, from countries such as the United States, Canada, France, Japan, the United Kingdom, among others.

However, one of the main problems that have been found is the constant failure of electrical energy services in industrial areas. Something that Fibra Prologis also pointed out recently.

This "significantly affects equipment and facilities, causing delays in production chains," Solili said.
