The French company Egis seeks to expand its operations in the country, where it is already collaborating on works such as Line 12 and two sections of the Mayan Train. For this, it carried out the expansion with the incorporation of new spaces of the company on Avenida Reforma.
The firm has been operating in the country since 2015, where they carry out interface engineering and system integration for the modernization of Line 1. On Line 12 they are responsible for reinforcing the tunnel and curves of the underground section.
These new facilities imply the arrival of more than 500 people to the company's work in the country, the upcoming acquisition of two companies to strengthen its operations and the expectation of doubling its profits in the next four years.

“I want to have more space because we are growing our team in Mexico. Today we have 1,100 people working for the Egis team, here as well as in the field and on engineering projects, especially trains. In this sector, we currently have a team of 120 people and it will grow to 170 by the end of the year”, explains Laurent Germain, CEO of the company, in an interview.
While in the Mayan Train they supervise sections 4 and 5, the most controversial. In addition to participating in other projects in the center of the country and in Guadalajara.
But, they look for more. In order to double the company's profits worldwide, which are currently 25,000 million dollars, the plan is to invest in more trains and highway concessions, “but we also want to make acquisitions and we have two companies in Mexico with discussions. One in the area of construction and another in infrastructure that will help us to have new skills”, adds Laurent Germain.
Of interest: Automotive industry, manufacturing and logistics, the ones that most demand space in the country
The decision of the company, which has activities in more than 100 countries in Europe, the Middle East, India, Latin America, Africa and Asia-Pacific, is no accident. His interest is in Mexico, since, despite the fact that it is going through inflation problems in the short term, as in the rest of the world, the demographic bonus will continue to demand construction.
“We are very optimistic about market growth and population growth. People will need housing on roads, so in the long term the number of infrastructure will continue to grow and companies like ours will be the first interested”, added Laurent Germain.
