Green buildings will be a priority in the post-pandemic world, according to technology company Honeywell.

In their report “Rethinking buildings after Covid-19”, six out of 10 respondents will probably invest in air quality measurement mechanisms, in order to have sustainable buildings.

While 70% of administrators are willing to incorporate technological solutions to build smarter and more sustainable facilities.

As users are more aware of the impact that properties have on their health and well-being, they expect owners and managers to implement new solutions, thus strengthening their safety and experience in a building.

The report also mentions that 75% of respondents in the United States have had to rethink the way their workplaces operate.

This permeates Mexico, which, motivated by integration with the neighboring country, will generate a regional paradigm shift in the sector, especially if the fear of contagion is taken into account.

Honeywell believes that the operation and management of buildings will change permanently and that Covid-19 will continue to be a latent concern among owners and managers.

On the other hand, the construction of sustainable buildings will be a priority, where digitization in buildings will be present with IoT tools, artificial intelligence or machine learning, based on improving the customer's experience in favor of their well-being.

In Mexico City, the Chapultepec I and Torre Virreyes buildings are an example of part of these new specifications, among other buildings in the capital.

This Honeywell report seeks to become a roadmap for decision makers and leaders in facility management to advance their post-pandemic adaptation strategies quickly, efficiently and safely, the firm noted.
