About twenty industrial projects show interest in operating in the city of Durango, of these, six companies are about to close a deal, with a high probability of being completed.
This information was provided by Gustavo Kientzle Baille, head of the Ministry of Economic Development (Sedeco), during an event with the Prysmian Group. Meanwhile, another seven or eight projects in the Comarca Lagunera continue to advance.

One of the most important factors in attracting new industrial projects is the construction of the railroad that will connect the capital of Durango with the port of Mazatlán.
Another element that will drive investment is the arrival of a new gas pipeline that will supply the city of Durango, coming from South Texas, United States. The gas pipeline passes through Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, La Laguna and will connect with Durango capital in the limits with the states of Chihuahua and Zacatecas, as appropriate.
The 60-inch diameter pipeline will replace the 12-inch pipeline that is already 40 years old.

Durango is expected to end up with a Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of around 800 million dollars. Investment in mining has a good omen as Durango is the state with the largest exploration in the entire country.
In the medium and short term, it will be possible to see the benefits of the mining exploration exercises that are developed in the different regions of the state.
Regarding employment, the state official reported that 4,800 new jobs have been created so far this year. This figure is expected to improve in the second half of the year, with the projection of 11 thousand new jobs.
