DHL Supply Chain plans to add hybrid SPEC vans to its operations in Mexico, in addition to opening two cross-dock complexes in Silao and Chihuahua, with the intention of improving its capabilities for its logistics solutions and supply chain flexibility.
The vans will be used for last-mile operations, and will increase the crew capacity from two to five people, with which the firm seeks to expand its delivery capabilities and reduce its operating times, says Juan Carlos Aderman, vice president of Transportation of DHL Supply Chain Mexico.
The firm seeks a similar purpose with the opening of the two cross-dock complexes, with which it plans to improve its response speed and coverage for different solutions.
The new cross-docks will join the network of 11 complexes that the firm currently has, with which it seeks to implement its flexible supply chain schemes, with which it can serve different sectors with fewer resources, says Aderman. who dispensed with giving investment amounts for a period of silence from the company globally.
This scheme is already underway in cities such as Monterrey, where up to five sectors are served, and which reduces costs for clients by up to 25%.
