As part of the economic reactivation program after the health emergency, the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) announced that it will invest 880 million pesos that will be directed to the construction of projects belonging to the area of affordable housing in the capital of the country.

The plan aims to attract both investors and provide a viable environment for the development of new projects.

Especially for construction companies that were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, according to José Sabino Varela Arámburo, president of the CMIC CDMX.

Through the Special Program for Urban Regeneration and Inclusive Housing known as Previt, more than 3,000 jobs have been generated, both indirect and direct, through the construction of residences.

These works belong to the Secretariat of Urban Development and Housing (SEDUVI), the agency in charge of promoting the program. And ensure that social criteria such as mobility, risk management and impact with the environment are met.

“We have registered 650 homes, 42 thousand square meters, with an expected investment of 880 million pesos in the Previt. This is an area of opportunity that several developers took advantage of to be able to reactivate their own companies ”, said José Sabino Varela Arámburo, president of the CMIC.

The capital of the country has been one of the main engines for economic reactivation, which is why it has been a destination for both private and public investment, highlighting the urban projects of the Government's plan for the revitalization of the Historic Center, which will have invested 800 million pesos at the end of 2021.
