Dematic 8 years ago came to Mexico as part of the Kion Group, a German company with a presence in more than 100 markets on a global scale that designs, builds and implements customized intra-logistics solutions.

The initial plant built in Nuevo León in 2014 represented an investment of 300 million dollars during the first 3 years of operation, employing 500 people. It included two Technological Development Centers, one in Guadeloupe and one at PIIT with more than 50 engineers dedicated to advanced design development.

Dematic has recently doubled down by anticipating a growth in its manufacturing footprint given the demand for its services, which was already showing a clear upward trend prior to the health crisis.

In the current context, as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for a large number of companies in the local and international market has accelerated to increase competitiveness through greater automation and optimization of processes in the chain of supply.

The pandemic has been for this company a very aggressive detonator and accelerator for the growth of the company, Arturo Flores, Director of Senior Plant Operations Mexico and Dallas, told T21.
