Conavi provides support to combat housing backwardness and improve the condition of homes with renovations. The National Housing Commission (Conavi) has a record that at least 8.5 million homes in the country, about 26.6% have some type of deficiency, so it has undertaken strategies to reduce the problem.

One of them is the Emerging Housing Project, which consists of providing support of 90 thousand pesos for the expansion of the home or 35 thousand pesos for improvement actions such as waterproofing, reinforcing ceilings, securing doors and windows, changing electrical or sanitary installations and lifting walls.

In total, the agency plans to provide 165 thousand support in 69 municipalities in 15 states, where it has been identified that the conditions of the buildings are more precarious.

The benefited entities are: Baja California, Campeche, Chiapas, State de México, Guerrero, Morelos, Oaxaca, Puebla, Quintana Roo, Sonora, Tabasco, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Yucatán and Zacatecas.

The requirements to receive the support are to be over 18 years of age, owner of the home to be intervened and not have been a beneficiary of any other Conavi program between 2019 and 2021.

Priority will be given to female heads of the family, indigenous population, people with an individual monthly income of less than 6 thousand 777 pesos per month, or per household of less than 12 thousand 700 per month.

It is necessary to submit an application to Conavi with the following requirements: CURP, current official identification, proof of address, birth certificate, among others.

An identification card will also have to be filled out, with information gathered in an interview with the General Coordination of Programs for Development of the Ministry of Welfare.

If the request is approved, the agency will grant the support in a single payment in the bank account of the beneficiary.
