COMCE projects a 3% increase in exports and 8% in Foreign Direct Investment in 2024

Mexico will register year-on-year growth of 3% in its export of products and 8% in the attraction of foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2024, the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (Comce) projected this Thursday.

On the one hand, exports of goods from Mexico to the world increased 2.6% in 2023 over 2022, to 593,012 million dollars. In the second indicator, Mexico received 36.58 million FDI in 2023, which represents an increase of 2.3% at an annual rate.

According to figures from the Ministry of Economy, in the period from January to March 2024, FDI in Mexico reached 20,313 million dollars, distributed in accounts between companies (US $ 98.6 million), new investments (US $ 599 million ) and reinvestment of profits (US$19 million).

Regarding foreign direct investment, Comce projections indicate that Mexico could reach an influx of resources in the amount of 39 billion in 2024.

This significant increase in exports is mainly due to the dynamism of the manufacturing sector, mainly the automotive and auto parts industry.
