The Real Estate Innovation and Transformation Cluster (CITI) was inaugurated, whose objective is to lead and promote the sector in its digital transition, made up of Coldwell Banker, Remax, Keller Williams México, The Smart Flat, Century 21, Quality Inmobiliaria and Realty World.

At a press conference, the CEO of Century 21, Gerardo Contreras, pointed out that the United States market, with 300 million inhabitants, has 1.3 million people dedicated to real estate brokerage, while Mexico, a country with around out of 130 million people, we should have 300,000 real estate professionals, that's how big the opportunity we have is, said Contreras.

According to the Century 21 representative, it is estimated that CITI houses approximately 10,000 real estate agents.

The cluster is based on five guiding values that revolve around the end customer. such as: ethics and transparency, connectivity, service quality, innovation and information security, as indicated by Phillip Hendrix, CEO of Coldwell Banker.

Preventing fraud on real estate platforms is one of the main objectives of the project, according to Jorge Carbonell, founding member of CITI and CEO of Keller Williams.

Fraud is a problem that is reflected in the Statistical Bulletin of Criminal Incidence in Mexico City, which showed that, from May 2019 to July 2020, 1,182 frauds were committed.

In this sense, CITI seeks to safeguard user data through a neutral ecosystem, where it is verified with contracts and legal agreements that it is not misused. In the country, 80% of the real estate market is open and 20% are exclusive.

Of the latter, 80% are owned by real estate professionals: "This has to grow and evolve, we have to take care of our listings", so CITI will seek to form alliances with proptech, fintech and blockchain startups,

For his part, Sergio Felgueres, general director of RE/MAX, explained that this initiative provides a safe space to interact as competitors and collaborators, sharing information on their clients' properties with other real estate agents so that they have access to all inventories and , thus finding customers the best option to buy or sell.
