In the statement, the German brand assured that this project is independent from others that are in the process of being evaluated to continue expanding the production of this type of car, and one of them is the one in which the BMW Group Plant San Luis Potosí participates, which continues under analysis.

The secretary affirmed that they are seeking to provide the company with the incentives it is requesting to materialize the injection of capital in Potosí territory, for which reason the negotiation continues on the same path.

It should be noted that it was at the beginning of September when the European premium car brand announced that it plans to build a new assembly plant for this type of model, and San Luis Potosí was among the four finalists.

This investment is focused on electromobility, so it will have an initial investment of 1,000 million dollars and a base of 800 qualified employees. If the BMW Group chose this state, it would build this plant on the site where it is already assembling its models, since it has a land reserve for this new development.
