Banxico maintains interest rate at 11.25% for the fourth consecutive time

In the decision issued by its last board of directors at the end of September 2023, the Bank of Mexico (Banxico) decided to keep the interest rate unchanged, leaving it at a level of 11.25% for the fourth consecutive time.

During the board meetings of May, June and August, it maintained the same level of the interest rate. The decision made at the September board of directors was unanimous and followed what the financial market expected.

Banxico's decision occurs in the context of a slowdown in inflation that stands at 4.44% during the first half of September 2022. The current level of inflation is the lowest it has reached since the first half of 2021, and after The Federal Reserve of the United States left the benchmark rate in the range of 5.25% and 5.5%.
