The states of the Bajío region reported the highest annual growth in vehicle sales in the country in July, according to records of buyers of new units from the Mexican Association of Automotive Distributors (AMDA).
Aguascalientes reported an annual growth of 21.1%, going from 1,052 units sold in July 2021 to 1,274 placed in the same month of 2022.
Next, Guanajuato reported a growth of 4.3% at an annual rate and in Querétaro it was 4.1 percent. In Bajío, only San Luis Potosí reported a decrease of -4.6% (from 1,570 to 1,497 units).

Among the six regions, Bajío had the most significant growth, accumulating 7,916 units sold in July 2022, an increase of 4.7% compared to the 7,560 reported a year ago.
The Central region continues, which accumulated 30,520 vehicles sold in July of this year, an annual increase of 2.9% compared to 29,672 in the same month of 2021.
In the south-southeast region, accumulated sales in July amounted to 11,570 units, that is, a growth of 1.1% compared to 11,447 in the same period of the previous year. In this area only two entities reported growth, the rest decreased.
The West reported 9,609 vehicle purchases in July, up 1.1% from 9,502 a year ago.

However, the North-Central region was one of the two regions that registered an annual decrease in vehicle sales, showing a reduction of 0.5% (from 4,256 to 4,233 units sold).
The entities of the northern border registered the greatest annual decrease in the sale of automobiles, due to the fact that in July of the current year 17,933 units were placed, that is, -2.4% compared to 18,373 in 2021.
Nuevo León was the only entity in this region with growth of 4.0% (from 7,405 to 7,704).
