Audi México will make an investment of more than one billion euros in its plant in the municipality of San José Chiapa, in order to increase its positioning in electromobility, announced the governor of Puebla, Sergio Salomon Cespedes Peregrina.

It was highlighted that Audi México's latest investment in Puebla will trigger the economic development of San José Chiapa and the surrounding area, since it will increase jobs at the plant, as well as indirect jobs in the closest businesses.

In the message from the executive president of Audi Mexico, Tarek Mashhour, he promised to maintain a policy of collaboration between the German firm and the state government to boost vehicle production.

The Audi México plant in Puebla opened its doors in 2016 and eight years later it exceeded the production of one million cars, which were exported to countries in North, Central and South America, as well as marketed in the Mexican market.

In this plant, the Q5 model is assembled, in different versions, which is exported to the entire world with the exception of China. The investment project of one billion euros will generate 500 jobs, which will be added to the five thousand jobs already existing in the automotive company.
