Bosch, the leading manufacturer of household appliances in Europe, began construction of its first plant in Mexico, located in the municipality of Salinas Victoria, where it will invest 260 million dollars and will generate up to 1,500 jobs.

It is estimated that the plant will be ready in the summer of 2024. On an area of 430,000 square meters, it will produce 600,000 large refrigerators annually.

The manufacture of household appliances will be an important pillar of the company's growth strategy in the American Continent, said Rene Schlegel, president of Bosch Mexico, in March 2022.

The governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, highlighted the responsibility of the German company with the care of the environment, being able to combine profitability and care for the environment.

He asserted that it is not just about bringing companies, but about choosing those that come to the entity with a new paradigm, to comply with the 2030 Agenda, with business actions for sustainable development.

For his part, Iván Rivas Rodríguez, Secretary of State Economy, highlighted the attributes of the state for large global firms, including its proximity to the United States, which makes Nuevo León the ideal entry point for the large T-MEC market.

He emphasized that the entity is going through a great economic moment, since in the nine months of this administration, 82 investment projects have been confirmed, of which 44 are new investments and 38 are company expansions.

In turn, Joerg Ulrich, vice president of production at Bosch, thanked the support for the construction of this state-of-the-art factory, which will create qualified jobs and promote local economic development.

Rene Schlegel, president of Bosch Mexico, reiterated the company's commitment to the country, where they have had operations for almost 70 years, through four business areas: Mobility Solutions; Industrial Technology; Consumer Goods and Energy and Technology, distributed in 14 complexes nationwide.
