The Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) will make discounts of up to 75 percent in the monthly payments for the payment of mortgage loans valued at Times Minimum Wages (VSM) in support of the pandemic.

The institute launched the Infonavit Solidarity Support program to support more than 220,000 workers with discounts in the next three semesters due to the economic impact of Covid-19 on the loss of income and jobs caused since last year.

“Infonavit Solidarity Support is a temporary program approved by the Infonavit Board of Directors and joins the actions implemented since 2020 in the framework of the Covid-19 health emergency. In its first stage of application, it is expected to serve around 220 thousand borrowers with financing assessed at VSM, ”he said in a statement.

The institute reminded workers who have a mortgage loan assessed at VSM before March 2020, they will be able to apply for this program from My Infonavit Account (micuenta.infonavit.org.mx).

Solidarity Support Infonavit will support workers who allocate more than 30 percent of their income for the payment of monthly payments and who had a cut in salary, as well as those without an employment relationship who have continued with their payments.

Likewise, it will help correct the borrower's delinquency before the Institute and reduce the payment of its financing for a period with a maximum duration of 18 months with the option to renew for six more months.

For the program, the Institute detailed three modalities for the Infonavit Solidarity Support program for the payment of credits.
