SAFRAN Expansion in Querétaro Shows 60% Progress

The expansion of SAFRAN's second plant in Querétaro is currently 60% complete. This investment project will increase its engine repair capacity, providing maintenance and overhaul services throughout the North American continent, creating 500 new jobs.

This plant, which covers 14,000 m², will provide significant capacity to LEAP's global MRO network to support the growth of Safran Aircraft Engine Service Americas' service activities, increasing its annual capacity by 150 engines to a total of 350 engines by 2030.

Company management specified the details of the investment plan, which include the construction of a second MRO (maintenance, repair, and supervision) workshop, which is scheduled to begin operations in 2026.

Safran has been present in Mexico for more than 34 years and currently has 18 facilities and nearly 14,000 employees across the country. The group operates in four regions of Mexico (Chihuahua, Querétaro, Baja California, and Mexico City), occupying The largest employer in the aerospace industry in Mexico.
