Following the trends of e-commerce consumers, 99minutes reported that it reached an agreement with Amazon Mexico to enable hundreds of its allied businesses as official delivery points through its concept of delivery and collection points called Punto99.

This concept is made up of thousands of local businesses such as stores, hairdressers, stationery stores, or any establishment that wants to be a part, where consumers can pick up their packages.

One of the most marked trends in online commerce in Mexico is to receive packages in stores or outside the home, representing more than 12% of online commerce deliveries today, according to the Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO).

According to the AMVO, it is often more convenient for buyers to receive their orders at a point close to their homes, jobs and other places they frequently visit, since they do not need to travel long distances.

“We love being able to work with Amazon Mexico to offer this out-of-home delivery option to their customers. Offering this option when a person buys on amazon.com.mx gives the buyer more flexibility and control, and improves their experience,” said Santiago Saviñón, chief growth officer at 99minutes.

With this, when buying on Amazon, you can choose one of these points as the place to receive the order and pick it up safely at a time convenient for you.

Any business with a Wi-Fi connection, a space of one cubic meter and long opening hours can be part of the Punto99 network for free and in a couple of days they could be generating additional income.

“It is important for us to work with local businesses for several reasons, on the one hand, we are helping customers avoid delays and failed attempts in their deliveries; We are generating sales potential for these businesses by bringing traffic to their premises, as well as being a new source of income for them and, finally, generating ecological benefits by consolidating packages at one point instead of delivering to many addresses," Michel said.
