The head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, confirmed in her III Report the construction of 286 homes with 164 parking spaces in the Atlampa neighborhood, through a Master Plan.

With this, the aim is to revitalize the Cuauhtémoc mayor's office, benefiting 1,044 inhabitants of the area, the head of government announced.

The program was prepared by the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESA) and the National Council for Science and Technology (Conacyt).

According to CESA, the unbuilt properties make it possible to develop recovery and revitalization projects in the Atlampa neighborhood.

Both institutes diagnosed the place as an industrial zone that fell into disrepair and now has housing potential.

To start the project, Seduvi must modify the General Urban Development Program and be approved by the local Congress.

After approval, the resources to be allocated by the Government of Mexico City will be determined.

The Master Plan speaks of eight properties: four on Avenida Manuel González, one in Prolongación Nopal, another in Naranjo number 426 and the last one in San Simón 418. The only unoccupied one is in Geranio 132, a property that belonged to a match factory.

The integration of expropriation folders for these lands has already begun. In addition, a census was carried out, which registered 850 people who live in these irregular properties called “camps”, by their inhabitants.

It is also seeking to incorporate a property in Fresno 409, which will go from being a Diesel distribution plant to a housing complex.

As well as some irregular settlements at numbers 533, 556 and 558 on Avenida Manuel González and one more on Avenida Naranjo.

These properties will be relocated since, according to the INVI, it cannot be built there because they are land where there is a lot of water.
