An American interconnection and data center firm, it has an expansion project for its operations in Querétaro, where it has been present since last year.
In January 2020 the company acquired two data centers (MX1 and MX2) in Querétaro. In the second, the MX2, the firm will invest 54 million dollars in the expansion phase planned for the period 2021 to 2022.
It currently has 60 direct collaborators, providing 200 direct and indirect jobs; however, the expansion plan is expected to incorporate 100 more, said the general director of Equinix in Mexico, Amet Novillo Suárez.
The firm's project consists of expanding its interconnection capacity to support the growing market.

The MX2 expansion plans involve having more than 14,500 square meters, an extension that is equivalent to two fields in the Azteca State, which has 7,140 square meters. This initiative seeks to create the first hyperscale data center in the Americas.
The two Querétaro data centers, serving the Mexico City metropolitan area, are carrier neutral facilities with multiple entry points that include five network service providers currently operating within each data center.
The data centers are located in the Innovation Park, in the metropolitan municipality of El Marqués, with a strategic location in the center of the country and close to the Intercontinental Airport of Querétaro.
The firm distinguishes in Mexico a growing market, characterized by hosting banks, telecommunications networks, local companies and suppliers that demand global interconnection technology.
According to Solili, the metropolitan area of Mexico City in April 2021 reported a demand that exceeds 100,000 square meters, which represents 25% of the total demand in the country.
